Tracking the Bets of Financial Influencers¶
Financial influencers ("finfluencers") make countless predictions and recommendations ("bets") across podcasts, videos, and social media. But who's tracking their actual performance?
Finfluencers Trade is a project dedicated to systematically collecting and analyzing these public predictions. I am building tools to measure their outcomes against market reality with the goal of providing data-driven insights. My aim isn't just critique; it's to bring transparency and accountability to the financial commentary you consume.
What Insights Will You Gain?¶
This platform is currently under active development. The vision is to transform noisy commentary into clear signals by analyzing features like these:
- Overall Performance: How accurate are different finfluencers over time?
- Sector Expertise: Do they excel in specific industries (e.g., tech, energy)?
- Market Conditions: How do their calls perform during high volatility (VIX)?
- Signal Generation: Can certain finfluencers act as reliable indicators (or contrarian signals)?
- Leaderboards: See who's currently performing well based on recent calls.
- Individual Bets: Track specific predictions, including the exact quotes and source links.
While these features are being built, I will be sharing progress, initial findings, and related thoughts on the blog.
